Ashley Hasty is a Senior Lecturer of Merchandising, focusing on branding as well as digital and visual merchandising. As a professor at IU she has won numerous grants and awards for her teaching, which focuses on encouraging creativity and collaboration through innovative uses of technology. Employing techniques such as active learning, service learning, flipped classrooms, and games, Professor Hasty inspires students to take a central role in the learning process, using their peers as resources and applying course material to real-life scenarios. She has also been invited to teach classes for Themester and Intensive Freshman Seminar. As a scholar, she focuses on US fashion history, particularly practices surrounding weddings.
