About

Kate Rowold is the Associate Dean of the School of Art, Architecture and Design and a Professor of Fashion Design. She teaches courses on fashion history, ideation, and construction, and mentors both graduate students and undergraduates in the Individualized Major Program, primarily on dress history, fashion history and museum studies. Her best-known exhibit was Bill Blass: An American Designer, which was the first solo retrospective of his work, accompanied by a book. She is an expert on couture fashion as well as fashion collecting and display, regularly sharing her knowledge with local and national audiences. Her work also appears in Necklaces: The Art of Barbara Natoli Witt and Flights of Fancy: The Art of Fashion’s Surface Design.
