Digital art at the School of Art, Architecture and Design focuses on artistic experimentation with immersive virtual environments, mobile computing, multimedia, video, and other electronic media. By merging art and technologies, students create new forms of expressions and ways of appreciating art for the 21st century.
Choose from three dynamic degree paths
An environment that challenges perception
Digital art students have access to spaces equipped with the latest technologies, including the Hybrid Arts Laboratory, which focuses on collaborative 3-D virtual environments.
Investigate + produce
Take advantage of the power and flexibility of digital forms while revealing new artistic practices. Students investigate 3-D modeling/immersive environments, digital imaging, multimedia authoring, non-linear video production, sound editing, and more.
Through the McKinney Visiting Artist Series, the digital art program hosts nationally and internationally recognized artists to meet with students, present their work, and give workshops and individual critiques.
