David Brenneman began his duties as director of the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art in 2015. Prior to arriving in Bloomington, David spent nearly twenty years at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, where he served as Curator of European Art, Chief Curator, and ultimately Director of Collections and Exhibitions. Previously, David served as Assistant Curator of Paintings and Sculpture at the Yale Center for British Art, and has held fellowships at the Fogg Art Museum (now Harvard Art Museums) and the Museum of Art of the Rhode Island School of Design. One of David’s many accomplishments was serving as Managing Curator for Louvre Atlanta, a unique three-year collaboration of exhibitions and programs between the High Museum of Art and the musée du Louvre in Paris. For his work on the project, the French government awarded David the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2008.
