Ryan Mandell joined Indiana University in January 2016 to design, build, and direct the MAD LABS, the Eskenazi School of Art + Design’s digital fabrication labs. Prior to joining IU Ryan was Assistant Professor and Area Head of Sculpture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Assistant Professor of Sculpture at Boise State University, and Visiting Assistant Professor of Sculpture at Penn State and the University of North Texas. His work has been featured in multiple publications including the Chicago Tribune and Sculpture Magazine, and exhibited nationally and internationally in cities such as San Francisco, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Berlin, and Budapest. His studio practice is currently shifting away from sculpture, toward furniture and product design via digital fabrication.
