We employ graduate assistants and Associate Instructors each year in the Studio Art areas. Student Academic Appointments (SAA) are a primary source of funding for many M.F.A. students, and they make graduate students an integral part of the university’s teaching and research missions.
Graduate assistantships can offer invaluable professional development that would not otherwise be part of a student’s course of study. Funding is offered together with admission to new students—there is no separate funding application required. Returning SoAAD graduate students re-apply for funding each year.
