Early in your final year, follow these steps to complete your degree, graduate, and participate in Commencement.

Step two: Submit your graduation application
As a student within the College of Arts and Sciences, you must apply for graduation through the College Recorder's Office.
You must have a valid IU network ID and password to apply for graduation online.
If you have any questions about your graduation application, contact the Recorder’s Office at 812-855-1821 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a student within the University Graduate School, you must apply for graduation through the University Graduate School Recorder’s Office.

Step three: Participate in commencement
Participating in a Commencement ceremony is optional. But if you choose to participate, read the following information applicable to your graduation semester.
Spring ceremony for undergraduates
The Undergraduate Spring Commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Memorial Stadium.
Undergraduate students who complete degree requirements between January 1 and August 31 participate in May Commencement. There is no summer ceremony.
Spring ceremony for graduates
The Graduate Commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 3 p.m. in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
Graduate students who complete degree requirements between January 1 and August 31 participate in May Commencement. There is no summer ceremony.
Winter Commencement, also called December Commencement, will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 10 a.m. in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
All degree candidates (both graduate and undergraduate students) who complete degree requirements between September 1 and December 31 participate in Winter Commencement.
