As part of the Interior Design at 100 observance on the IU Bloomington campus, the Eskenazi School Interior Design Program in partnership with the Indiana Resource Center for Autism invites community members to a dynamic, hands-on charrette focused on designing spaces that support neurodiverse individuals.
This full-day event brings together students, faculty, designers, and advocates to explore how architecture and interior design can foster sensory inclusion, cognitive accessibility, and emotional well-being.
Through collaborative ideation, prototyping, and reflection, participants will engage with real-world challenges and generate creative solutions that prioritize diverse ways of thinking, feeling, and experiencing space.
Please register for this free event as space is limited.
What to Expect:
- Empathy-driven design activities
- Inclusive brainstorming and prototyping
- Multiple modes of participation (verbal, visual, written, quiet)
- Accessibility check-ins and sensory-friendly spaces
- Opportunities to share ideas and receive feedback
Lunch and materials will be provided.
Whether you're a seasoned designer or simply passionate about inclusion, your perspective is welcome and valued.
