Makaela Addington is a Visiting Lecturer of Merchandising, teaching retail math and planning & analysis. Professor Addington brings years of industry experience to the department with prior experience working as a buyer/merchant at Victoria's Secret, Walmart, and Lids Sports Group. Her experience across retailers has allowed her to develop expertise in assortment strategy, budget planning, inventory management/forecasting, promotional planning, vendor relationships and negotiations, ecommerce site management and marketplaces, and private label product development cycles. She has worked across apparel, furniture, and licensed sports businesses, allowing her to provide insight to students on many different career paths and product avenues. During her time in undergrad at Indiana University, Makaela served as President of the Retail Studies Organization and was a Top 5 finalist in the National Retail Federation Next Generation Scholarship; she continues to mentor students in their applications for FSF and NRF scholarships.
