Carrie Hott pursues an interdisciplinary, research-based practice invested in disentangling the technological systems that shape our lives. She is the recipient of the Artadia Award, a California Humanities grant, and has had residencies at the Center for Spaceflight Research at University of California, Davis, Deurendis in New York, and Headlands Center for the Arts, among others. She has held previous academic positions at the University of San Francisco, University of California, Berkeley, and San Jose State University. Hott earned her M.F.A. in interdisciplinary art at the San Francisco Art Institute and her B.F.A. in painting with a minor in psychology at Arizona State University.
