Ran Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Merchandising program, focusing on digital merchandising and retailing, brand experience, and service marketing in digital contexts. She teaches consumer behavior. She also has experience for teaching courses in retail technology and retail analytics. As an educator, she provides real-life scenarios in the classroom not only to stimulate students’ interests in the subject matter, but also to encourage their development of critical thinking skills in problem-solving. Her current research project focuses on consumers’ information processing in online service platforms. Her papers were recognized as Highly Commended Paper in the 2016 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence and the Paper of Distinction award in International Textile and Apparel Association Conference 2012.
