Lecture: Chatpong Chuenrudeemol: "Bangkok Bastards" and Indiana Crossbreeds
Bangkok-based architect Chatpong (“Chat”) Chuenrudeemol.Chatpong (“Chat”) Chuenrudeemol is the principal at Bangkok-based CHAT architects, whose projects aim to stimulate community through strategies that re-interpret authentic local conditions. A scholar of Thai vernacular “street” typologies, affectionately called Bangkok Bastards, Chat holds Thailand's 2020 “Silpathorn Award,” the country’s highest award for contemporary artists.

An exhibition of work investigating a compatible abstract language by Eskenazi School faculty members Martha MacLeish and Malcolm Mobutu Smith. MacLeish is Program Director and Associate Professor, Creative Core and Smith is Associate Professor, Ceramics and Director of Graduate Studies.

Lecture: Esther Choi: The Nature of the Beast: Tecton and the Gorilla House at the London Zoo
Esther M. Choi’s work as an artist and a historian primarily follows two strands: first, how concepts of nature have shaped and been shaped by the aesthetic and narrative conventions of Western worldmaking practices; and second, the potential for dialogical and televisual aesthetics to generate experimental structures of social engagement.
Choi is the co-editor of Architecture At the Edge of Everything Else (MIT Press, 2010) and Architecture Is All Over (Columbia University, 2017).
Lecture: Roberto Núñez from the Núñez-Zapata Studio
Jesús Roberto Núñez is the principal and cofounder of Estudio Núñez-Zapata: an architecture, urban planning, and research studio based in Monterrey, Mexico, whose work explores urban ruins as opportunities for the revival of communities.

Lisa Taliano is an New York City-based artist whose paintings are an investigation into the ecological condition that recognizes bodies and places as continuous. In the paintings that comprise “Material Entanglements,” Taliano explores the porous nature of bodies and the wider environment through the tension between abstraction and representation.
Lecture: Heather Scott Peterson: Controlled Substances
Los Angeles-based artist, designer, educator, writer, and curator Heather Scott Peterson exhibits “Controlled Substances.” In a career spanning painting, sculpture, architecture, furniture, ceramics, textiles, photography, and the culinary arts, Peterson’s most recent work explores material histories, and the consequences of human culture on the planet.
Lecture: “Iteration as a Method to Reveal Values”
The principals in Butz and Klug Architecture share the extensive iterative process they undertake to uncover and reveal the values at the heart of a design project.
Lecture and Exhibit: Christopher Joy: "What Does Adventure Look Like"
“What Does Adventure Look Like?” is a sequence of 21 paintings by Christopher Joy. The New York-based painter, sculptor, and documentary filmmaker is also a curator and co-founder of the artist interview series “Gorky’s Granddaughter.”

A lecture by Kelly Bair & Kristy Balliet of BairBalliet launches their exhibition "Floor Models," which includes a series of models that present a constellation of projects: three houses, two community centers, and a game board that puts the projects into play.
Kate Stewart and Ward Davenny: Architecture of Imagery: Building Two-Dimensional Space
Artists Kate Stewart and Ward Davenny explore aspects of image-making by examining physical, illusory, and poetic conventions of pictorial space. In this lecture, they will share insights on the commonalities between artists’ and architects’ relationships to space, whether illusory or habitable.
Kelly Wilson, Gary Rohrbacher, Anne Filson: Paths Cross
“Paths Cross” is a linked body of paintings and CNC machined bas-relief panels that employ distinct materials and production to explore shared formal and spatial themes. Using processes and techniques instigated through parallel co-creation: Wilson creates vibrant and subdued compositions of layered colors to hold oppositions in tension as Filson & Rohrbacher explore digital craftsmanship by recasting the CNC router as a creative agent.
Nader Tehrani: The Building, in Conversation
Award-winning architect Nader Tehrani's work lies in building bridges between education and practice, creating healthy institutions to ensure equity, democracy, and education for all. In this talk, Tehrani will discuss architectural representation not so much as a pictorial discipline, but as a constructive one.
Murray Legge: Project Round Up
In this talk, Austin-based architect Murray Legge, FAIA will explore a range of projects undertaken over the past decade by the collaborative office of Murray Legge Architecture, including efforts to address incremental density in residential design, public art and educational spaces designed for children, and a pair of sustainably designed courtyard houses.
Robert Pulley: Breathing into Clay
Robert Pulley's exhibition "Breathing into Clay" features small-scale ceramic sculptures that explore nature in all its complex interconnections. The Columbus-based artist also works in bronze and stone and makes large-scale public art. An opening reception for the exhibition takes place Thursday, February 20 from 6:30-8 pm.

Marlon Blackwell and Meryati Blackwell will discuss their architecture and design process and will introduce “Radical Practice: The Work of Marlon Blackwell Architects” a new monograph released in June 2022 by Princeton Architectural Press.
David Hytone: Spyglass and Loupe
The J. Irwin Miller Architecture Program Lecture and Exhibition Series presents a talk by David Hytone. A finalist for the 2018 Neddy Award in Painting, Hytone’s images are constructed from hundreds of individual pieces of hand-painted paper.
